Children’s bodies are constantly growing and changing. From learning to crawl and walk to participating in sports and everyday activities, kids experience a tremendous amount of movement throughout their development.
At McCleary Chiropractic, we provide gentle, individualized chiropractic care for children and families in Evansville, Indiana.
Our approach is simple: we treat every child as an individual.
We take the time to talk with parents, understand the child’s history and needs, and make sure both the child and parent are comfortable with the care being provided.
Chiropractic Care Designed With Kids in Mind
Pediatric chiropractic care is very different from treating an adult.
Children do not need the same type of force or techniques that may be used with an adult. Care is adapted to the child’s age, size, development, comfort level, and individual needs.
Our goal is always to provide a positive experience while supporting healthy movement and function.
Why Do Parents Bring Their Children to a Chiropractor?
Parents may seek chiropractic care for their children for a variety of reasons, including concerns related to movement, posture, muscle tension, or injuries.
Common reasons parents may seek an evaluation include:
- Back or neck discomfort
- Sports-related injuries
- Muscle tightness
- Postural concerns
- Mobility concerns
- Growing-related aches and discomfort
- Falls or physical impacts
- General musculoskeletal concerns
Every child is different, which is why we begin with an individualized evaluation rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
Chiropractic Care for Babies
Babies go through tremendous physical development during their first year of life. They progress from lying and lifting their head to rolling, sitting, crawling, standing, and eventually walking.
Parents sometimes seek an evaluation when they have concerns about their baby’s movement or musculoskeletal function.
At McCleary Chiropractic, any care provided to an infant is gentle and specifically adapted to their size, age, and developmental stage.
We also understand that babies may not exactly cooperate with an appointment—and that’s okay!
Our office is family-friendly, and we want parents and children to feel comfortable throughout the visit.
Chiropractic Care for Toddlers & Children
As children become more active, they experience plenty of opportunities for bumps, falls, and physical stress.
Running, jumping, playing, climbing, riding bikes, and participating in sports are all normal parts of childhood.
When parents have concerns about their child’s musculoskeletal health, an evaluation can help determine whether chiropractic care may be appropriate.
Our goal is to make care comfortable and approachable for children.
Pediatric Chiropractic & Sports
Older children and teenagers who participate in sports place additional demands on their bodies.
Sports can involve repetitive movements, running, jumping, twisting, and physical contact. Chiropractic care may be incorporated into a child’s overall approach to maintaining healthy movement and addressing musculoskeletal concerns.
At McCleary Chiropractic, we can evaluate areas of concern and help develop an individualized plan based on the child’s activities and goals.
What Happens During a Pediatric Chiropractic Visit?
We want your child’s appointment to feel comfortable—not intimidating.
The first visit typically begins by talking with the parent about the child’s health history and what brought them into the office.
We’ll then perform an age-appropriate evaluation and explain what we’re finding.
If chiropractic care is appropriate, we’ll discuss our recommendations with you before beginning treatment.
